I am the (Co) founder of an organization that contributes to the community in a positive way. Our Milk Money was created to make a meaningful difference in communities across the country by supporting parents who have opted for self-employment as a way to provide for their children. This new approach to earning revenue, as a means of supporting one’s family, has become a terrific alternative for many moms and dads. It has allowed them to reject having to work long hours away from home and or have to depend on expensive child care. The members of our organization are some of the most heroic and spirited people we’ve had the pleasure of knowing, and they should be commended for their courageous efforts to provide for their families. The Parents of the Our Milk Money Organization do not believe in blaming any one person or political group for the weakened state of our current economy, or any economy for that matter, as it is counter-productive. Instead, we have chosen to take a practical approach toward adequately embracing our entrepreneurial spirit, and we recognize that we have the great privilege of living in a country that encourages free enterprise. I would like to offer some valuable information about how one may easily be able to transition from their current job to being self-employed, simply by utilizing the skills that they have acquired and perfected while working for someone else. There is a wide selection of valuable resources that are available for free to parents who want to make this kind of change, but don’t know how. Author Bio: Ally Loprete, Co-Founder OurMilkMoney.com Prior to becoming a self-employed parent herself, Ally spent the last ten years working in various roles in the entertainment industry. Changing her permanent residence from Phoenix, Arizona to Los Angeles, California in 1997, she continued her career as a performer in Theatre, Television and Film. She found success in many creative projects in Hollywood Theatre, as well as creating her own works such as “Chasing Ally” her successful one-woman show. She spent the last 5 years working at ABC studios on the Disney lot, and although her time there was rewarding and plentiful, it wasn’t until her son was born that she came to realize her primary function in her new life as a mother. Currently Ally resides with her husband, Chris and her two little boys, Braden and Henry, in the beautiful suburbs of Stevenson Ranch, California, just north of Los Angeles. When she isn’t working on OMM, she is actively involved with playgroups, teaching musical theatre to girls ages 6-12 at a dance studio up the street, and designing her own line of custom made jewelry. Ally’s passion in helping others transition from full time working parent to successful entrepreneur grew from her own experiences. She is determined to help other’s deal with the sometimes overwhelming prospect of starting a new business while still running a household, and is resolute about creating a haven in which we can continue to thrive and support each other in our personal journeys. |
