Fathers And Children Need Each Other

Image"Every father, even the worst delinquent, must see his child once in a while. It's beneficial for both parties," says Germain Dulac, who has studied the male condition for 20 years and analyzed the impact of broken relationships. Germain Dulac is a researcher at the Université de Montréal's Interdisciplinary Research Centre on Violence Against Women and Families.  Dulac says that even in cases of violence or incest it is beneficial for both the father and the child to visit one another (in an appropriately supervised setting, of course).  Sometimes it is beneficial for the child to have the opportunity to confront his or her aggressor.  And, according to Dulac, "Support groups have often proven that fathers turn out better if they stay in touch with their child."
