Recycle

Supplies: (many are included if you order the kit at www.MotherGooseTime.com)

  • White lunch bag
  • Contruction paper
  • Watercolor paints
  • Paint brushes
  • Scissors
  • Pencil
  • Stapler
  • Glue or glue sticks
  • Container for glue
  • Small paint brushes for glue

Adult Preparation:

  • RecycleDownload the instruction sheet from the Art Studio image to the right.
  • Cut out the mouth opening from the front of the bag. Make sure you do not cut all the way through both sides of the bag.
  • Cut out two feet from construction paper.
  • Cut a paper body shape from construction paper. (Cut construction paper roughly the length and width of the lunch bag, rounding the top corners for the soft looking bear head).
  • Place a white lunch bag on the table or work surface. Center a paper body on top of the bag, lining up the bottom edge withe the bottom edge of the bag.
  • Cut a mouth opening in the paper body to align with the mouth opening on the bag.
  • Fold down the top inch of the bag and crease. Fold down one ince again and crease.
  • Staple the fold to hold the top closed.
  • Repeat these directions for each white lunch bag.
  • Put some glue in a container or set out glue sticks.

Activity with Children:

  • Use watercolors to paint the front side of a paper body in anyway desired.
  • Use water colors to paint 2 feet in any way desired.
  • Have children paint on eyes. (Alternatively you can use large google eyes or an adult can cut eye larger white circles and smaller black circles for children to glue on for eyes.)
  • Allow to dry.
  • Center your painted paper body over the front of a white lunch bag, fitting the mouth hole on the body over the mouth hole in the bag. Glue in place.
  • Carefully put your hand inside of the mouth hole to spread the front and back of the bag apart and flatten the bottom so that the litter bag will stand (children may need adult help).
  • Glue the 2 feet to the bottom of the bag as shown.
